Deborah Freeman-Watt
Deborah Freeman-Watt is the founder of Elara Consultancy, a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and an experienced board adviser with more than 30 years' experience leading investment, development and regeneration projects across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and North America.
Her career has combined executive leadership with strategic advisory, working with listed companies, private investors, family offices and public sector organisations on some of the most significant real estate investment, development and regeneration programmes across international markets. She is recognised for bringing commercial judgement, independent thinking and a collaborative approach to complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Deborah has held senior executive positions with Land Securities Plc, Knight Frank and The Grosvenor Estate, where she led major investment, development and portfolio strategies spanning mixed-use regeneration, asset management and capital deployment. She currently serves as a Non-Executive Board Member of Crown Estate Scotland and the Old Trafford Mayoral Development Corporation. At Crown Estate Scotland, she provides strategic oversight of one of Scotland's most diverse property portfolios, spanning urban commercial assets, rural estates and nationally significant marine infrastructure. At Old Trafford, she contributes to the long-term regeneration strategy centred on the proposed redevelopment of Manchester United's stadium, helping shape one of Europe's most significant sports-led regeneration programmes and its wider economic, social and placemaking legacy.
Through Elara Consultancy, Deborah advises investors, developers, landowners, institutions and public sector organisations on the decisions that shape places, portfolios and organisations.
Fluent in French and Spanish, Deborah has worked extensively across international markets, bringing a global perspective to complex real estate challenges while remaining focused on practical, commercially grounded advice that creates lasting value.
